A Little About Us & Who We Are
Thanks for stopping by.
Welcome to my new Bio Page. I say ”new” because I had to totally revamp this page due to our lifestyle change. Lets just say this page update is long overdue.
For those of you who have been around the site for a while know who I am and that My family and I own property in Lake City Michigan and decided after 10 years of vacationing to Lake City to finally take a big chance and move up there. If you are new to the site first off let me introduce myself and welcome you here to Northern Country Morels (what we like to call “The Northern Country!”) My name is Mike. I created this site in “2005” which was a work in progress since 2000.
Anyway let me just say our dream of living happily ever after in Gods Country didn’t exactly go as planned. I struggled for almost 2 years to find steady work in my field but eventually had to face reality that we would have to move back downstate. We moved from Lake City to Clawson in May of 2006. I would miss the privilege of living in the middle of Morel Country! It was nice to be able to walk out my front door of my house and be in prime morel picking territory within 10 minutes. It was nice to track the morels from the early spring till the end of the morel season. The wildlife and the wild game hunting was breathtaking but was not worth being away from my family while I had to continue work down-state (a 3 ˝ hour drive). So maybe in the future after the kids are all grown up we will once again shoot for our dream of living in the Northern Country.
Well they say that life has its rewards. I can honestly say that I have been rewarded with a beautiful house in Clawson Michigan along with my wife and three kids after all that. We couldn’t be happier! And in the mean time I will have to plan my morel hunting trips like many do. I am also rewarded with the gift of Web Design so I could create this place on the web. In just the short time this site has been around, our presents on the World Wide Web has been greatly noticed. We have a great group of members on our Messageboard forums and is continuously growing.
So now that you know a little about who I am why don’t you finish touring the site and along the way, check out our our Messageboard Forums and meet the community. If you like what you see, why not take 5 minutes to register as a member. You can gain a wealth of knowledge from our members and make new friends. It is a great way to converse with knowledgeable, seasoned Morel hunters from all over. It’s a great way to find out when and where the morels are being found.
